Fresh from signing Leon Camier for another season of WorldSBK in 2017, MV Agusta has just taken the wraps off next year’s super-sexual F4RC and, at the same time, alleviated fears of its future somewhat.
It’s no secret that the Varese factory has been struggling financially after seemingly splitting with AMG and there was a time when zero bikes left the production line. Rumours circulating suggested that Brembo would chuck a few bucks in for a takeover, though that’s yet to materialise. However, maintaining a presence in racing and unveiling a smattering of 2017 models looks peachy – as does the new F4 Reparto Corse.
Details and ’17 upgrades are scant at present, and it’s difficult to ascertain particulars over the previous model from the press bumph, although the majority of the tweaks seem aesthetical, including ditching the AMG logo. That single-exit SC Project exhaust though…
In ‘street’ form, you only get 205bhp, whereas the race kit (exhaust, ECU, and a dash of carbon) permits the full-fat 212bhp: no change from the previous version then. As you’d expect from a bike that’ll cost you around £40k, exquisite components such as Öhlins NIX30-kitted forks, a TTX36 shock, forged Marchesinis and Brembo M50s adorn the RC, and there’s a tidy reminder of MV’s 37 world titles etched into the number boards.
