We’re in Italy at the Monza Rally. Why? Milestone – the makers of the Official MotoGP game – have announced a partnership with Valentino Rossi for 2016. Next year’s version will be ‘dressed in yellow,’ featuring all the usual championship gaming but dedicated to the nine-time world champion.
With changes to 2016’s real-world MotoGP activities at a minimum (Michelin branding aside), Milestone has elected to concentrate on Rossi-inspired features: the game is dedicated to VR46’s career, past and present, so reliving his first race onboard the 125 Aprilia through to 250s, 500 two-strokes and modern day four strokes. As well as the usual Tarmac racing, there’ll also be a chance to compete as Valentino behind the wheel of a rally car and discover the world of flat-track drifting at his ranch.
Valentino Rossi: “I’m happy to announce that I’ll participate in the making of Valentino Rossi The Game, along with the guys at Milestone. We chose to include both the most important elements of my MotoGP career, and all the extra circuit stuff that are so important to me, like Ranch, Rally and more. It will be fun to approach the game not only as a gamer, but also as a ‘test driver’. I’ll work with the development team to make sure all fans will get the best experience they ever had.”
Valentino Rossi ‘The Game’ will be available for PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC/STEAM in June 2016. Rumours of a Road Rash function in the game are unfounded…
