2017 Isle of Man TT is already awesome…

You’ve gotta love Wednesdays: the midweek hump day that provides unconditional dubplate news, strategically published under embargo in the UK’s largest journal. We had not one, but two announcements yesterday. To everyone’s amazement, northern tea drinker, Guy Martin is making a racing comeback alongside John McGuinness in the official Honda Racing squad aboard the new SP2. The lure of a… Read more →

Video: Three MX Minutes with John McGuinness

Last week we spent a day riding motocross and enduro at Dave Thorpe’s off-road centre in Wales with John McGuinness. It was epic. McPint ain’t exactly renowned for posting gym selfies on twitter. Instead, the multiple TT winner and road racing legend talks about his love for motocross, and how it ‘keeps the pies away’… Another more bloggy video with… Read more →

Muddy Rutting with John McGuinness

We’re in South Wales at Dave Thorpe’s Off-Road Centre. There’s a scarily steep slag heap situated at the top of the mountain, just off the Brecons, and it looks like we’re riding the highest part of the surrounding valleys. I’m absolutely shitting it.… Read more →

Ten Minutes With…John McGuinness

He’s not quite the proverbial housewives’ pin-up favourite but there isn’t a bad word spoken about John McGuinness. Morecambe’s finest lines-up with Honda for a millionth successive year and is fighting fit ahead of the season – in the run-up to last year’s TT, McGuinness badly damaged his wrist after twatting a rock in an off-road crash and 2014’s results… Read more →

Bouncy, Bouncy, Up and Downy

Hidden among the feast of factory superbikery at last week’s annual Honda/Dunlop pre-TT test at Castle Combe was this beauty: John McGuinness’ privately-run superstock Fireblade. On closer inspection of his steed, I noticed she wasn’t wearing the almost de rigueur golden suspension, instead dressed in purple kit – Maxton. McPint is being welcomed to the Maxton stable for 2015, running… Read more →
