Video: 2017 Yamaha R6 Review

There’s nowt like spanking a screaming supersports weapon in the Spanish sunshine, which is exactly what we did during the 2017 Yamaha R6 press launch at Almeria. 17 years after the original release, the class stalwart gets humble yet effective updates for this season, including bastard Euro4 compliancy and some far sexier chassis tweaks.   We tried to seamlessly encompass… Read more →

2017 Yamaha R6 Review | First Ride

My head is buried in the R6’s new dash; I’m almost chewing on the needle as it flirts with the redline. Every limb contorted behind its fresh fairings in a desperate attempt to maximise straight-line speed. My wrists are aching from wanking pinning the throttle and Almeria’s relentless nature shows no mercy. But I’m also riding one of the sexiest… Read more →

Triumph Bonneville Bobber Review

I suppose I could compare Triumph’s Bonneville Bobber to mushrooms. Not those naughty magic ones, just simple everyday mushrooms that provide unconditional taste sensations to billions of people around the world. Having spent years neglecting ‘shrooms through a bizarre trepidation, I eventually sampled the blighters well into my 20s and was stunned by their taste, humble yet handsome flavour and… Read more →

Video: 2017 Yamaha MT-09 Review

Hopefully you’ve studied the prose, now it’s time to witness the hos wheelies. Yep, it’s the 2017 Yamaha MT-09 review video shot in Majorca at the press launch, garnished with a hint of Baron back in Blighty. I think you’ll agree the intro is ground-breaking in the world of motorcycling and wouldn’t look out of place in an M&S advert. … Read more →

2017 Yamaha MT-09 Review

Working weekends is sometimes acceptable, particularly when it involves pulling mahoosive wheelies and shredding rubber in sunnier climes, and post-ride Spanish-spec G&Ts. You know, the goldfish bowls? As the front wheel returned from Earth’s troposphere for the umpteenth time that day, the 2017 Yamaha MT-09 convinced me this notion is entirely correct. Is this the ultimate roadster? If Yamaha’s MT… Read more →

Video: Triumph Bonneville T100 Review

Fresh from an overhaul for 2017, Triumph’s Bonneville T100 was treated to a mini UK press launch in Hinckley and I spent the day freezing my knackers off in the Leicestershire countryside. At least I looked cool. It’s a bike that delivers just as much at 10mph as it does at 80mph, which encompasses the mantra for this very sector:… Read more →

Ducati Hypermotard 939 Review

It’s always nice to walk away from a press launch without speeding fines or jail visits, particularly mischievous motorcycles that entice hooliganism with minimal provocation, very like the Hypermotard. Although niche in many eyes, Ducati’s fun-packed stunter has always been a personal favourite since model’s inception: that original air-cooled Hyper’ was as simplistic as they come, yet offered undiluted thrills… Read more →

Yamaha confirm MT-10 at £9,999

An R1-engined supernaked for under £10k? What the bloody hell is going on? Yamaha has just released final spec’ of its all-new MT-10 and confirmed the price will be a rather tempting £9,999, which marmalises future rivals’ bang for buck ratios. Yamaha claim 160bhp, so expect mid-140s at the rear wheel. More importantly, engineers have tweaked the motor for bottom-end… Read more →

Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 Review

Love them or loathe them, modern retros are currently booming. Some major manufacturers are even declaring the segment as priority and, while the hipster fashion over function theme isn’t everyone’s cuppa, the scene has opened motorcycling to a broader audience. Ducati unveiled the Scrambler brand-within-a-brand at the end of 2014 in a bid to attract a wider spread of Ducatisti… Read more →

2016 MV Agusta Brutale 800 Review

“How is handling compromised while nursing an erection,” was probably the finest pre-ride enquiry regarding the 2016 MV Agusta Brutale 800. MV’s stalwart naked of 15 years has undergone a hefty set of engine and chassis revisions in 800cc form, plus obeying to bastard Euro4 emission regs – all whilst retaining those irresistible Latin lines. When a manufacturer declares various… Read more →
